Alsident® System hoods are designed in consideration of efficient air technique, durability and user-friendliness. For example, our suction pens are corbelled providing a high extraction efficiency and making the edge more resistant to blows and dents. All our vacuum-moulded hoods have a reinforced edge providing extra stability and making it easy for the user to position the hood.

Efficiency and optimal positions
Our hoods are available in various designs which are suitable for different types of pollution. Therefore, the optimal positions of the hood differs. Alsident is the only producer of extraction arms, who has had the hoods tested by an impartial institute (the Danish Technological Institute). The results prove the efficiency of the different designs at various positions. You will find the illustrated capture efficiency report here.

It is important to choose the hood considering the working process and the source of pollution in order to obtain the highest efficiency. In the overview of hoods under each system you will find examples of working processes and types of pollution, so that you can choose the best hood for your purpose.

The extraction efficiency of the hood also depends on positioning the hood correctly considering the source and type of pollution. If a hood is positioned in the optimal angle, you can increase the extraction efficiency noticeably without increasing the air velocity. Under Optimal positioning of the hood you will find more about how to choose the best hood and how to position it considering the source and type of pollution.

Various materials and tube diameters
Just as our extraction arms are available in various materials, we can offer hoods for the systems in the same material types. It is important to choose a hood in the same material as the arm. If you have chosen an antistatic extraction arm, the hood must also be antistatic in order to maintain the conductivity. Similarly, it is a good idea to choose a chemical resistant hood for a chemical resistant arm, so that the hood is more durable.

Not all hoods are available for all systems. Therefore, it is also important to order a hood that fits the extraction arm as to diameter of pipe (System number).
